Italian Voices
On this page we provide a unique collection of Italian voice samples (which have been contributed by the readers of our Italian website) which lets you assess the diversity and variety of Italian pronunciation patterns. The task was a very simple one: to record a short extract from the Italian Constitution (Article 3, to be precise). By clicking on the player, you'll
hear the reading of the same few lines by that particular regional voice allowing you to understand the differences between speakers from different Italian regions.
LISTEN TO THE VOICES OF:
1. Maria Paola (San Donà di Piave, Venice – VENETO)
2. Riccardo (Turin – PIEDMONT)
3. Teresa (Firenzuola, Florence – TUSCANY)
4. Michela (Ponte Nossa, Bergamo – LOMBARDY)
5. Antonio (Padua – VENETO)

Articolo 3 della Costituzione
italiana Article 3 of the Italian Constitution
Tutti i cittadini
hanno pari dignità sociale e sono
eguali davanti alla legge,
senza distinzione di sesso, di razza,
di lingua, di religione, di opinioni politiche,
di condizioni personali e sociali. All citizens have equal social dignity and are equal before the law, without distinction of sex, race, language, religion, political opinion, personal and social conditions.
all'organizzazione politica, economica e sociale
del Paese.
It is the duty of the Republic to remove those obstacles of an economic or social nature which constrain the freedom and equality of citizens, thereby impeding the full development of the human person and the effective participation of all workers in the political, economic and social organisation of the country.
